EmPower Place at Missoula Food Bank & Community Center Holds Winter Open House
MISSOULA – EmPower Place at Missoula Food Bank & Community Center will hold a winter open house on Saturday, Feb. 3 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The event is open to the public.
EmPower Place will be open for kids to play and free lunch will be provided, along with grab-and-go food bags for adults who attend the event. Plus, the Family Engagement Team will introduce new and returning families to their services and community partners at the event.
The services provided the day of the open house will include Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) application assistance, as well as Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) application assistance. Blood pressure (BP) and blood sugar (A1C) checks will be available from Partnership Health Center. Plus, All Nations Health Center will be on-site to answer questions from attendees.
EmPower Place is a hands-on family learning center located at Missoula Food Bank & Community Center and is a collaborative effort by spectrUM, Missoula Public Library, and the food bank. Dedicated to nourishing the bodies and minds of local children and families, it is one part community center, one part science museum, one part food hub, and one part library. It is free and open to the public Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Wednesday and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. For more information visit www.missoulafoodbank.org/empowerplace.
