Queer Coalition
The Queer Coalition is an oversight and decision-making body that directs the LGBTQ2S+ allyship work of MFB&CC and MFB&CC's equity initiatives.
What we have done:
- Assessed and updated the food bank's website to better center and represent our community members.
- Advised the food bank to implement gender-neutral bathrooms across its facilities to foster an inclusive and equitable environment for all who visit.
- Reviewed and refined the recruitment and onboarding process for an Equity Director position, pending full capacity to hire.
- Provided feedback and guidance on newly developed, equity-focused education for staff and volunteer onboarding.
What we are doing:
- Recruiting new members to our Coalition to add diverse perspectives. See application below if you are interested.
Where are we going:
- Supporting MFB&CC in implementing recommendations made in our most recent Equity Audit.
- Evaluating what barriers still exist in our food bank and community center through connection and story collection of our LGBTQ2S+ customers.
