Learning Kitchen Fundraiser: Sushi Making Class

Join us for a fun evening on Thursday, February 12th from 4:30-6:30pm to learn how to make your own sushi with Missoula Food Bank cooking instructors Ashlee S and Amber S. This class is a fundraiser for Missoula Food Bank & Community Center where participants will donate $35 to the learning kitchen budget which will support us offering other cooking class to our community free of charge. Learn with us about different methods for how to create sushi and make your own rolls to share and enjoy! After rolling sushi together, participants will sit down to eat together and take-home leftovers. As this class is close to Valentine's Day - consider registering with a loved one for a fun activity to do with someone you care about. Amber and Ashlee will each have their husbands as sous chefs!

Tuesday, February 17th, 4:30PM - 6:30PM

Abuelita's Tortilla Soup with Dacia

Warm-up your Tuesday evening with a fun class where you will learn how to make a simple and satisfying pot of tortilla soup that has been in Instructor, Dacia W.'s family for generations. Afterwards, the class will sit down together and indulge in the best part of cooking any meal...consuming it!

This class will be gluten, nut, and egg free. You can make this recipe without dairy, easily, but dairy will be in the room.

Tuesday, March 3rd, 4:30PM - 7:00PM

Kimchi Jjigae with Ariel/Jung-a

Join Instructor Ariel (Jung-a) Sohn Brand for an evening of cooking kimchi jjigae, a comforting Korean stew full of warmth and flavor. We'll also make a bowl of rice and a few veggie side dishes to create a full meal that we'll share at the end. This class is about community, stories, and connection through the power of sharing food.

This class will be gluten, dairy, nut and egg free.


In the Bill & Rosemary Gallagher Learning Kitchen, our food bank offers free cooking classes to help connect families with skill and know-how for healthy, low-cost meal preparation and food preservation. We are also able to partner with other service providers in this space for workshops and other educational opportunities for our community.
