This is not a fossil-arm (false alarm)! Get ready to stomp, stack and roar like a prehistoric pro! That’s right! This year we are transforming Southgate Mall into Missoula’s own Jurassic Park!

We’re dreaming of creations that look like they thundered straight out of prehistory, all built with cans and non-perishable food items that will later come home to stock our shelves at Missoula Food Bank & Community Center. Picture this: Tyrannosaurus Rex’s made out of chicken noodle soup, archaeological digs made from spaghetti noodles – maybe even the iconic jeep from our favorite dinosaur movie will make a cameo this year!

What is CANdemonium?

CANdemonium is a design and building competition benefiting Missoula Food Bank & Community Center. Local businesses, organizations and students are paired with architects and engineers to design and build giant structures made entirely from full cans of food.

Where does CANdemonium happen?

Southgate Mall in Missoula has hosted the event for several years. Teams build their canned structures along the walkways of the mall.

Who can participate in CANdemonium?

Local businesses, organizations, school groups, fitness clubs, congregations, or anyone who'd like to support the food bank!

What does Missoula Food Bank & Community Center do with all the food that is used?

All of the food goes directly to the food bank! In the past year, Missoula Food Bank & Community Center served one in five people in Missoula County. This event helps stock our shelves, keeping healthy food on the tables of our neighbors who are experiencing food insecurity.
